What do I think when I hear the word, "surf?"

*roxy, pink, waves, ocean, sand, fun, energy, hang ten, taking risks, adventure and adrenaline rush*
I was so excited to see all these pink boards... hopefully one day I will have my very own pink board!!! :)

surfing @ diamond head

The first day I was on campus, just to visit, I signed up for a Surf lesson... and now, September 9th is the big day to hit the waves. I have been looking forward to it for awhile now. It was such an amazing experience! And I can't wait to go do it again! It was such a wonderful feeling to ride the waves. It's really hard, paddeling and stuff. But totally worth it : ) I didn't want to leave when the instructors said to head in. I swallowed way too much salt water... and got sucked under a few times but still... I wanted to stay out there all day...The waves were ENoRmOuS!!! The instructors said that there was a swell or whatever it's called. But they were really helpful, and I got to spend just about the whole time in the water. I will definitely need to invest in a rash guard... because my rib cage and hip bones are in quite a lot of pain! But I am so HAPPY I got the opportunity to try surfing. It was an unforgettable experience... and I was really excited that I actually caught some waves!!!!

I signed up for Hula classes, they start in October and will be every Tuesday and Thursday... How exciting!!!!

My surf lesson is this Saturday! I really am looking forward to it... YEAH.

I have been to 2 island concerts... one in which Jack Johnson had played at earlier that day! (I will catch him next time) But it was still way fun! And another one where a Hawaiian legend played and I saw Hula for the first time!

I am starting to understand The Bus system... and will have it down in no time! I know which bus to take to get to Waikiki, to Ala Moana Mall...WalMart and a few other important landmarks!

They have Dole Whip at the mall... and it's just as delicious as ever of course : )

There is so much to do here! I can't wait to try it all out. I will let you all know what I am up to next!

My friend Sarah and I with the King of Surf!

View of the city sunset from my dorm room!

Weekends spent at Waikiki of course : )

Surfboards! I can't wait for Saturday!!!!

~Ohana~

Me and Gia attempting to snorkel. I guess when I get my braces off I will actually get to go... I wasn't able to because they got in the way : ( But it was totally fun splashing around in the ocean anyways!!!

If you have ever watched Lilo and Stitch you will know that O'hana means Family! I miss my family so much! I was talking to Jonathan the other day and he said, "Hawai'i!" It was so amazing! I was so proud of my lil Jonny. I wish Meg and Gia HAPPY 26TH BIRTHDAY.... and wish I could be there to celebrate with them both. I always look forward to their birthdays and have always looked up to my big sisters, they are the best! I will keep everyone informed, next saturday I am learning to SURF! I send my love to you all. XOXO Reva
